On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told phone records and data recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over that period.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most publicized missing child cases and is still unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

One phone message, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I believe what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I'm her? Then what? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I just want to discover," the recording stated.

The panel was informed that through emails, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with law enforcement who collated the information, informed the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with family friends of the McCanns, as per the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, the father answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "incorrect contact information."

During that incident Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone stating "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court was informed the co-defendant established a connection through digital means with Ms Wandelt before accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' home in the county in December 2024.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had reached out via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the period leading up to the appearance to the village, that area, in last December.

The court was told correspondence between the two accused, in last November, discussing trying to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her garbage or from utensils at a eating establishment.

"We have to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their house, the defendant transmitted a communication which stated: "We find ourselves sitting outside the McCanns' home with our headlights off resembling private investigators. I wanted to accomplish this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial ongoing.
