Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
An official for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.
The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
