Labuschagne Omitted from Australian One-Day International Team Against Team India
Labuschagne finds himself omitted from Australia's three-match ODI series against India, as in-form Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw getting a shock selection.
Recent Form Result in Exclusion
Labuschagne has been omitted from the ODI squad after being dismissed for one in both of his innings during the top-end series against South Africa in August. The right-hander has a top score of forty-seven in his previous ten ODI innings.
The batsman has played 68 one-day internationals and scored 1,871 ODI runs at an batting average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now focus on earning a Test team comeback ahead of the Ashes starting in Perth on November 21.
Surprise Inclusion and Other Squad Changes
Recent performances suggest of a resurgence with a score of 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw also hit a hundred for the Bulls in the same game against Tasmania.
Renshaw is in line to make his white-ball international debut in the forthcoming series against India after his last inclusion in an ODI squad in 2022.
Renshaw has played 14 Tests with the last coming in India in 2023 but is also seeking a red-ball recall as Australia look for a solution to their top-order woes.

Team Announcement Approach and Schedule
Australia have named a squad for only the initial two T20 matches against India with the Ashes on the horizon, although Glenn Maxwell will be absent for the five-match series due to a wrist problem suffered in New Zealand.
Mitch Marsh will lead both the ODI and T20 sides after smashing a century in the last match against New Zealand to clinch a series clean sweep last week.
“We have named a squad for the ODI series and first two games of the T20 series as there will be some management through the back end of the series as individuals prepare for the summer through domestic first-class matches,” Australia chair of selectors George Bailey said.
“The majority of the T20 squad will stay as a group as it’s an crucial phase in the preparation for the World Cup next year, however we are aiming to find equilibrium to ensure we simultaneously get ready certain individuals for the Test matches ahead.”
Australia’s three-game ODI series against India starts on October 19 in Perth, before the opponents play five T20s from 29 October.
